The R7 forks are a considerable upgrade from the prepubescent MT-07 telescopic version. Can we get a decent street/road setup out of these stock bits, or do we need to tear into them immediately like the MT-07?
Dunlop Q3+ : 120/70r17 180/55R17
Taller tire, steeper profile, falls into corners easier. As for geometry in the rear, the stock Michelin and Dunlop are the same height. For the front, q3+ is 6mm taller so while it’s steeper profile you may still have to do some adjustment to the front fork height to compensate correctly.
Wait…. are s22s stock? I thought it came with Michelins from thr factory? That’s what my response was based on. Either way, I think I’m still sticking with the suggestion of the q3+
Pirelli Corsa II 180/55-17 because this is a momentum bike which would benefit from a momentum tire. The goal being to highlight the advantages of the basic design.

I would choose 120 / 70ZR17 and 180 / 55ZR17 michelin power 5 for some sharper angles on the tire

Q3+ for geometry, plus its rounder profile would also aid for a more neutral steering feel..
Power 5’s soft carcass and rounder profile for less input, and quicker effortless tip in.
